the burial of a brown goose - Sonic Acts x Framer Framed. installation and performance

‘The Burial of a Brown Goose’ was commissioned by Framer Framed and Sonic Acts for the exhibition Between Fires: Irradiated Imaginations and Anti-Nuclear Solidarities (2026), curated by Fabienne Rachmadiev.

buulbuul - an experimental sound duo that yourfriendkas and I formed in 2024. Together we created 'The Burial of a Brown Goose' which is based on a song made by musician and writer Junisbay (1891–1973) about two geese, and channels grief, rage and generational care that gets passed on amid the denigration of nuclear-affected soil, water, and living beings. Through a recreation of a bird burial, buulbuul invites listeners into a state of hypnotic lamentation using human mimicry of bird noises and the distorted soundscape of nuclear-affected spaces.

The installation was on view from February 13th 2026 till May 17th 2026.

Materials: concrete, steel, wood, automated audio, agar-based bioplastic.
